Abandoned For Four Decades
The sprawling home is a dilapidated relic of a bygone era. It was last inhabited in the 1970s after being erected in the late 1930s. That was more than four decades ago. Nobody knows why the property’s original owners left or why no one else has moved in. The 57-room home includes an indoor tennis court and bowling alley. It’s in a great position, and it’s the perfect type of property to turn into a hotel (and make a lot of money), but it’s been abandoned.

In its prime, this magnificent home was truly magnificent. We don’t know who lived there or what they did for a living to be able to afford or need a 57-room home, but we do know it was properly cared for at one point. While the property appears to be abandoned (and in a hurry), it does have a legitimate owner. According to accounts, the estate is owned by an unidentified wealthy property owner who repeatedly purchases enormous mansions and then neglects them. The owner appears to have purchased a number of opulent mansions then abandoned them all.
