The Community Was Unaware Of The House
Bryan Sansivero, a photographer who specializes in capturing abandoned buildings, was taken aback by how successfully the farmhouse was hidden from view. The long path that leads up to the house hides it from prying eyes. He shared, “It’s amazing how hidden the home was. It was surrounded by a busy community,” he continued, “Many people here had no idea the house even existed.” He also claims that this location felt more like stepping into the past than any other home he’s visited.

Once Great, Now Crumbling
The once-impressive Victorian property is in a catastrophic state of ruin due to a mix of environmental exposure and long-term neglect. The front of the main farmhouse, which was erected in 1860, could be seen here. One of the home’s columns has fallen to the ground due to the roof’s sagging. A smokehouse, a garage, a privy, a milk house, a horse barn, and carriage house, a sheep barn, and four smaller barns are all on the nine-acre site. According to Sansivero, “I hope that my pictures can in some way help contribute to the restoration of such a beautiful and historically significant home.”
